Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Announcement
February 17, 2025
The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989 requires that universities receiving federal financial assistance provide annual information on drug and alcohol use to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent the unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by all students and employees.
The University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ(UA) presents the following information about health risks associated with drug and alcohol use; university policies and sanctions; federal, state, local law and legal sanctions; and counseling and treatment resources.
UA is committed to the health and wellbeing of our community, as well as reducing harm associated with alcohol and drug abuse through awareness efforts.
Employees should be aware of policies on their university campus so we can all play our part in upholding the standards of our UA community. Please follow your university guidelines for Drug Free Schools and Workplace. The University may initiate disciplinary action on employees found responsible for committing, attempting to commit, or intentionally assisting in the commission of prohibited conduct.
System Office employees should follow the guidance of the primary university they perform work at.
