Governor Appoints Christine Resler to UA Board of Regents

She currently serves as President and CEO of ASRC Energy Services (AES), the largest energy solutions company in ½ûÂþÌìÌÃand a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation. Her term will run from 2025 to 2033.

Katie Bender Named Director of Marketing and Communications at UAA

The University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃAnchorage has appointed Katie Bender, MPA '10, as the new Director of Marketing and Communications, effective February 25, 2025.

His retirement concludes four years of service to UAA and the University of Alaska. During his tenure, he emphasized UAA's role as a key educator of Alaska's workforce while maintaining affordability and accessibility for students. In retirement, he plans to spend more time with family and friends, research, write, and continue coaching and teaching emerging leaders.

UAS Professor X̱'unei Lance Twitchell Nominated for Emmy Award

Dr. Twitchell is a writer and advisor for the animated PBS Kids program Molly of Denali, nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for the third annual Children's & Family Emmy® Awards. The awards ceremonies are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 15, 2025.

Cost appointed as dean of UAF School of Education

University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFairbanks Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Anupma Prakash has appointed Douglas Cost to serve as the dean of the School of Education. Cost is currently an associate professor and chair of the secondary education program in the UAF School of Education.

Dr. Carlee Simon Appointed Dean of the UAS School of Education

The University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃSoutheast has appointed Dr. Carlee Simon as the Dean of the School of Education. Dr. Simon has been serving as interim dean. During that time, she has guided the school through the CAEP accreditation process. Her work has focused on fostering student success and strengthening community engagement.
