Planned power outage will disrupt data services

On Saturday, Aug. 3, UAF Facilities Services will shut down power to the Butrovich Building and Data Center. As a result all UA data systems will be offline for up to 10 hours starting at 2 a.m.

Regents direct university administration to consolidate, seek single accreditation

The University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃBoard of Regents took a step today toward consolidation of the university system into one accredited University of Alaska. By a vote of 8-3, regents made their decision for providing the best way to serve Alaska's students in the face of a severe reduction in state funding.

Regents declare financial exigency; consider structural options

Dear UA Community, Today, on a vote of 10-1, the Board of Regents approved a declaration of financial exigency for the university. This difficult decision is a direct result of a massive $136 million (41%) reduction in state funding, projected additional losses from declining enrollment and reduced research activity, and the lack of sufficient reserves to fund our current operations through the year.

University Foundation appeals to donors for scholarship fund support
July 19, 2019
The UA Foundation launched a campaign Monday, July 15 to help offset the loss of $15 million in state funding for the ½ûÂþÌìÌÃEducation Grant, ½ûÂþÌìÌÃPerformance Scholarship, and the WWAMI Medical Education Loan Program. Donations to support scholarship scholarships may be made online or by texting AKScholarships to 41444.
