    During its December 15 meeting, the University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFoundation board of directors elected five new board members and extended the terms of three others. The board received an update on the University system's first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, and heard of major impacts from recent philanthropic gifts made to University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃAnchorage, University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFairbanks, and University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃSoutheast.

    Jonathon Taylor will be the University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃsystem's next director of public affairs. Jonathon will assume the position on January 17, succeeding Robbie Graham who is exiting due to moving out of state.

    On November 8, University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃPresident Pat Pitney held a virtual Town Hall with staff, students and faculty from across the university system. The Town Hall was held in advance of the November Board of Regents meeting, and featured budget updates, leadership announcements and other issues.

    UAS Chancellor search committee co-chairs, Jennifer Ward and John Pugh, announced in an email to the UAS community that 40 applications were received for the position, and 25 passed the preliminary screening.
