UAF Vice Chancellor Evon Peter has announced his plan to pursue new opportunities

Vice Chancellor Evon Peter has announced his plan to pursue new opportunities and passions effective June 30, 2020. Peter was appointed by Chancellor Brian Rogers in July of 2014. He has been an innovative leader whose compassion and vision have grown the statewide impact of the Community and Technical College and the College of Rural and Community Development, even in the face of declining budgets.

Gretchen Gordon named KUAC's interim general manager

Upon the resignation of KUAC General Manager Keith Martin, Gretchen Gordon, KUAC's assistant general manager and director of development, outreach and FM, has been named interim general manager.

Sandra Kowalski, director of Indigenous programs, has announced she will leave her position at the University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFairbanks College of Rural and Community Development effective Dec. 6.

New leadership elected for the UA Board of Regents
November 15, 2019
The University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃBoard of Regents elected new leadership on Nov. 7. Sheri Buretta, who presently serves as vice chair, will replace John Davies as chair. Karen Perdue will serve as vice chair. Dale Anderson and Lisa Parker will continue in their roles as secretary and treasurer respectively.

Dr. Math Trafton to serve as Interim UAS Sitka Campus Director

Dr. Math Trafton will serve as Interim Director at the Sitka campus of the University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃSoutheast (UAS) once the post is vacated by Leslie Gordon. Dr. Trafton will begin his interim position December 8, 2019, and the search for a permanent director of the Sitka campus will begin in January 2020.

On Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, Kenai Peninsula College's (KPC) longest-serving professor, Alan Boraas, professor of anthropology, passed away peacefully with family at his side at Providence ½ûÂþÌìÌÃMedical Center in Anchorage.
