    Evon Peter has agreed to withdraw his resignation notice and will remain Vice Chancellor for Rural, Community and Native Education (VCRCNE). The current recruitment efforts for a replacement Vice Chancellor will be suspended.

    UA Chief Human Resources Officer Steve Patin announced this week that Nycolett Ripley has been selected to serve the University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFairbanks as its Human Resources Senior Business Partner. In this role, Ripley will serve the UAF administration, staff, and faculty as a functional expert, liaison, consultant and point of contact in direct contact and coordination with the UA Human Resources Team.

  • Gordon Kruse receives distinguished scientist award

    The North Pacific Fishery Management Council has awarded Gordon Kruse the first Terry Quinn II Distinguished Scientist Award. Kruse is a fisheries researcher and a University of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFairbanks professor emeritus of fisheries and ocean sciences.

  • Doug Schrage wins statewide fire chief award

    Douglas Schrage, UAF's fire chief, is this year's recipient of the Warren B. Cummings Fire Chief of the Year Award. Schrage received the award in early February at the ½ûÂþÌìÌÃFire Chiefs Leadership Symposium in Juneau.
